Original spar material?

Hi, I'm looking at perhaps replacing the bowsprit on my new (to me) Falmouth Cutter, hull # 21. What was the species used for the original construction?

Thanks!

Hi Hypothetical,
Congratulations on your new FC #21. The bowsprit on my FC is Douglas Fir. It is made from three pieces 9' x 4 1/2" x 1 7/16" laminated together.
I hope this helps,

John

Where is the boat? Mike Anderson made one for my boat and it is a true piece of art.

She's currently in Tampa, soon(ish) to move to New Hampshire. I love the look of that boomkin anchor roller!
